Let me present the second Chapter of my fintech-distopia "2040"..
In this chapter, Max gains access to Anna’s confidential research on PSD3, behavioural risk scoring, and the data systems that quietly shape our financial lives. What begins as a deep dive into “anti-fraud innovation” quickly reveals a darker architecture of prediction, control, and automated judgement.
Very creative, and stunningly plausible. As a writer, I would suggest a more consistent prose style. That said, yes, I too will wait eagerly for the complete book.

A really interesting premise, and it made me chuckle because I knew the references you were basing it off of -- the PSD2 is very much a thing, as was the Payment Services Directive before it. A 3 or 4 seems entirely plausible.
What's funny though, is that banks already turn the data over virtually everywhere today -- KYC/AML rules are everywhere (even Switzerland). Financial data hasn't been private for probably a decade. And then, of course, there's credit cards, and how the card brands / merchant banks share all manner of data between one another, and with marketers, credit bureaus, the government ...
And you’re absolutely right! the movement towards “2040” is already happening now. All the economic, regulatory, and fintech mechanisms described in the book are entirely real as of 2026. In "2040", I’m simply showing how far into absurdity this can go if we keep trading agency for convenience and live on autopilot.
Not because it felt like fiction. It felt like a decision I could face.
I work in tech leadership. Every few years something arrives that sits just slightly wrong a system that collects more than it needs to, a directive that removes a human check, a process that technically complies but feels like a line being crossed. Most of the time, people implement it. The costs of refusal are real and the risks feel abstract.
I feel Max is someone who did the harder thing and paid for it in the most bureaucratic, undramatic way possible.
Mila, by not urging me to read your novel you have succeeded in finally getting me to read your novel. It didn't hurt that youve been very friendly, sweet and supportive.
So I'm in for the long haul. I'm hooked. Also, I need to become very familiar with Max because it's clear to me you have me in mind to play Max in any future film adaptation. (Hee hee)

Hi!
I remembered how you mentioned supporting the book in France )
As you probably know, we’ve now officially launched the crowdfunding campaign.
We’d really appreciate any ideas or help in making 2040 known in France. We can continue the conversation in DM if you’d like.

I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Thank you for the kind words 🙂

This is an interesting story, it stopped me cold.
Not because it felt like fiction. It felt like a decision I could face.

This is a warning dressed as fiction.
I'll be reading...
My favorite Chapter – Chapter 6… when you will have time, please read it..I'm really interested in your feedback, dear Diamantino!

It's very well done, Mila.
Thank you, dear Glenn, for the warm words! ❤️
You’re actually right !! you and Max really do have a lot in common! You nailed it 😄
Though I swear, I wrote his character based on an old acquaintance of mine who genuinely worked (and as far as I know, still works) at Deutsche Bank.
But yeah… you’re spot on. If there’s ever a screen adaptation, you’d be absolutely perfect for the role! 🎬✨
You captivated me from the first sentence - can’t wait for what’s next - now I know I will be a stalker too
Thanks, dear Farida!
I hope you will enjoy the second Chapter on this Friday )
I will def wait for it
